Nebtown Gazelle: World Supply of Marlex Running Dangerously Low

Page history last edited by Bob Dole 14 years, 2 months ago

In a shocking turn of events the once ubiquitous levels of our precious Marlex have deteriorated. Marlex, the main construction material for various consumer goods may soon be gone as we know it. Not many know it but the material is used in pressure cookers, hula hoops, as well as a reinforcing mesh in inguinal hernia repair; it all relies on Marlex. This precious material that has been mined from the Earth ever since 1956, may soon be depleted. The major disturbance came in the form of a shocking report in the fourth quarter of 2009. After many stocks in Marlex Inc dropped drastically many were questioning where all the Marlex was going. As it turned out, the most prominent Marlex mine, dubbed the Lancey Wrenderground, had suffered a Katastrophic cave in. The result being a gross loss of 75% of all Marlex that had been mined that months, aswell as twenty thousand Marlsman, and other employees. However despite this tragedy, no one managed to notice until more of the Marlex began drying up. Other Marlex mines, such as Pinelope Fields, began to report that there was less, and less Marlex to mine. One even closed down after a daily harvest revealed no Marlex whatsoever. Instead a yellowish metal was found, but it was deemed too malleable, and shiny to be used in anything useful whatsoever.

Many scientists across the world are attributing the Marlex crisis to a lack of music mixing in which case it would be really great if you know you could get that mixing done by say Saturday? Maybe if you could do that, that would be great. The mixing or lack thereof has caused namage on a global scale. Several quakes were felt, the highest magnitude being a 7.1 in Haiti, leaving many left wondering, why quake? Why not something respectable like Unreal or Doom. A sharp drop in Marlex was seen the day of the quake, and one particular located in Port-Au-Prince saw no production at all. Some wondered if it was just worker negligence. Others still blame the lack of mixing. Which is like kinda due for a project so yeaaahhh.

Other theories have arisen though. Many skeptics of the mixing theory have simply claimed that the demand for Marlex is too high, and we cannot simply keep up with the demand. Others are scolding that everyone should have seen the collapse of the Marlex Industry coming, it was bound to run out eventually.

"I mean come on you just keep using Marlex for everything, of course it will disappear! I mean Marlex mines aren't just some big trucks that you can keep just dumping Marlex on. But no you just kept liberally using Marlex like no tomorrow. We'll see who's laughing when I'm the only one with Marlex in town!" scoffed a Jim Grady.

The founders of the Marlex corporation Lance Armstrong, and Keith Marlin haven't been seen since Sunday. Some are really being to wonder if they ever will come back. Concerned employees were seen waiting up all night wondering if why they were taking so long coming back from the supermarket. It has indeed been a startling day for those who need their daily supply of crystalline polypropylene.

Update: Larmo, Head of the Mixing department at Marlex (a subsidary of Nebcorp Industries), has provided us with a statement:

Personally, I maintain that the mixing is completed and has been for several months,
and thus the swiftly dwindling Marlex production must be attributed to another cause, such as the declining population of Bishop worshippers in Bosnia.

As newly found chairman of the board I am pleased to annoucne the mixing is done at last and thus Marlex production is back on track.

We maintain Larmo's mixing skills to be the main fault in supply thus far.
