Nebtown Gazelle: British Columbians Termperate Rain Forest Excruciatingly Hot

Page history last edited by Bob Dole 13 years, 9 months ago

In the shadow of the destruction of the Nebtown National Server, a special ops team was being led by Nebual the glorius onto an elusive island that began with eruptions of lava millions of years ago. This island, the name of which is classified, would serve as a base of operations for this secret commando team. Once there they would begin a series of missions essential to the survival of Nebtowners everywhere. However an unseen, unconquerable foe would make these missions almost impossible, and would nearly break their courage. A cabin had previously been located on the island by the agency to accommodate the team. This innocent looking cabin provided all the cover needed for covert operations. Owned by a boatman the team quickly set up the necessary technology. Special briefings of the Fellowship of the Ring, as well as Alice in Wonderland were shown. Upon the initial reconnaissance of the island coastline they found a seal operative that had been awaiting their arrival. Unfortunately the seal too fatigued from being beached at Downes Point, was unable to deliver his crucial message. The Nebtownians were about to be hit. The temperature of the days to follow would steadily increase, limiting mobility. Upon completion of the mapping of the basic coastline, the team moved to Phase Two. The team hit the waves metaphorically, and managed to fit the entire team into a prototype sea exploring vessel made for two, for real.

(Only one paddle though, for easier concealment.)

Two small bays were discovered perfect for the landing of materials or reinforcement by boat. The team soon encountered another problem. An Operative had become dependent on the substances French Vanilla, or French Chocolate for survival. A daily dose of a cream based product was required each day. The blistering heat worsened, and reached it's peak on the date of July 8th. The team was stuck inside unable to complete it's other missions. The intense heat turned everyday journey's into epic struggles for life. Daily activity became much for many members of the team. Recon missions were done by night, or by substandard two-wheeled vehicles that a few Operatives were unaccustomed to dealing with. The days did not lift of their oppressive heat, and almost all of the commandos lost hope, except one. After the successful completion of Objectives B-Ball, and Root Beer Floats Everyday, I knew it was time. We must complete Objective Helliwell.

The team initially opposed, the Objective was vital, but seemingly impossible. It was an apparently very far eight kilometers away. Too far for day or night travel for

some, and there was another development. An Operative had been kidnapped, and was being taken to Cortez. Could the team even complete the objective a man short? A lucky breakthrough occurred when the other residents of the Nebtown cabin also revealed they were setting out to Helliwell. The elite Nebtown commandos after some prodding stepped up to the challenge. Equipped for the battle they set out in a jet black sedan. The 5km long recon mission had an estimated time of 1.5 hours, but they all knew what to expect. The trek brought them quickly to the first step of the mission. They gathered a stash of unique pearly white rocks essential for curing super cancer, and then set out to the most dangerous phase. A path filled with nothing, but waist high grasses stood ahead. The heat penetrated the team from all angles. The sun laughed at their meager attempts, and at many instances Operative Katlatte lost her cool. It was restored with a quick blast from the Nebcorp firearm. A solution of the compound mono-hydrogen dioxide pacified her. Eventually the team managed to struggle, and establish contact with the red fishing vessel they had been sent to signal. They quickly escaped to the shade, and waited for extraction. Thirty minutes later it seemed as if it would never come. Their civilian chauffeurs had been lost to the heat perhaps. After all the hard work the team would be lost . That was until the residents appeared also severely battered by the heat. Exhausted, but satisfied the operatives were soon ex-filled from the island. They had been sent into the Danger Zone, and survived/ not been turned gay.
